Doncaster Lakeside Drone Footage
Doncaster Lakeside is an excellent location for drone pilots to practice their skills. This is demonstrated by the many birdseye videos of the lake showcased on YouTube. We have selected some of the better videos for your viewing pleasure.

A professionally produced video designed to promote development of the area. It must have been successful judging by how much of the green space shown is now being built upon!

Lakeside Marina - the Drone Squad
On a cold winter's day in January 2018 the Drone Squad took a flight from what is now the last piece of undeveloped land around Lakeside. And provided this unusual footage of the Marina.
Some great views of the Winscar Rd houses by the water as well as the Kentmere Drive flats. Also noteworthy is the National College for Infrastructure (formerly the National College for Ss2) which can be seen centre screen at 51s.

David Morgan's dizzying film coverage
Posted in September 2017 this footage delivers several notable eye in the sky moments and delivers pace-of-change surprises as it whizzes by (some of the spins can be a tad dizzying but its worth it for the vistas on view.
The launchpad field is interesting in that all you see is now buried under the 'Willow Grange' housing estate off Dakota Way. As the aircraft skims towards the Keepmoat offices the mysterious Lakeside Eddy comes into view. The whirlpool as yet unexplained, can be seen at 49 secs into the video in the bottom left corner of the screen - if you know what causes it - then please let us know!
Other points of note is the interesting viewpoint of the Cheswold Pub, the Vue Cinema and a decent view of the undeveloped Herten Triangle Site. The loss of the fields near the water fountain also highlights the rate of development in the area.
Ecolier Videos - a sweeping view of Lakeside Boulevard from the air
Posted in September 2020 this footage starts near the footbridge before swooping towards the so called beach area of the lake. There it stall a while providing a view towards the Herten Triangle and the new housing estate on Dakota Way. The Vue Cinema is in view as is the Cheswold Lodge Brewers Fayre.
Note the gathering of swans by the beach. There then follows a sweep of Lakeside Boulevard showing the pre-developed fields between the Lake.
UK Drone Adventures over the lake
On a sunny day in June 2018 a drone skimmed the lake towards the Keep Moat Offices before turning and hovering over the footbridge. Superbly filmed and includes clear footage at 2:13 of the area recently developed for houses.
